Purchasing classics there

You come across them with a certain regularity. And Italo technician Oebeles Herder found another one too. As it should be: in a shed and under the dust. Sometimes we get the idea that Groningen is still full of it. So a Laverda SFC. But then a replica, look-a-like or fake. That kind of Laverda's belongs to the family where after all these years there are many more of them driving around than ever made. Most 'Laverda 750 SFC' types vary from well-intentioned conversion to perverse forgery. Therefore, never buy such a machine without researching its pedigree. Then pull the cut and pay for what is considered a serious investment.

A fake is just as much fun

Or you buy a 'fake' for a fraction of that money and you do what Laverda's are made for: bark and blow bluntly. We therefore advise you passionately to buy a converted standard bicycle. It can then be even cheaper than a Laverda twin in its original - non Laverda 750 SFC version. This way you have more sound for less money.

In terms of sound, there is of course a tension in the story

A lot of noise is no longer something you get your hands on together. And of course it is very bland, but then you can always use the 'classic trump card'. Classic four-stroke motorcycles sound significantly less annoying when breathing out a little easier than modern four-cylinder whining high above 10.000 rpm and modern, very large V twins with fully open pipes. But if your engine sounds car alarms while driving, you are in the danger zone. And pay attention to the speed in built-up areas.

Laverda 750

The 750 Laverda is a large, extremely reliable engine that really changed the world of vertical twins. And that Laverda made that piece of iconic motorcycle violence at the request of the American importer? At the time, there were no shiploads and herds of marketers. The major importers knew their market and told the factories what to make. For example, during a visit to the States, Laverda was taken to the Berliner showroom. There was a Honda CB72.

Berliner said “We want that.

But then in a big way. ” And so it happened. In doing so, Laverda did not deny his agricultural background. Every part was oversized and this made this machine ideal for endurance competitions. Old 750 Laverdas with impressive mileages can still be regularly encountered without major revisions. It is an incredibly strong engine. Several 750 Laverdas have been made in different versions. The GT, suitable for dynamic touring, the more sporty the S, the SF (Super Freni, super brakes) that was first produced together with the S and the Laverda 750 SFC line derived from the endurance racers, which became legendary in three generations.

Orange above

Laverda's characteristic orange color also dates from that time. In the dark, the color made the engines more visible to the pits crew and related circuit residents. It is very annoying when you suddenly notice in the competition stress that you are refueling a competitor. We found a nice picture about that refueling.

Back to the Laverda 750 SFC, so there are many fake people

With some you immediately see that he is just pretending. But there are also villainous falsifications that are offered for a lot of money. And the devil is not only in the songs, but in the details. Only twenty of the very first series were made. So read carefully before purchasing an SFC, contact the various SFC registers, become a member of the Laverda Club. And then enjoy the fastest tractors ever made in Italy. Or, as said, buy a 'fake' happy with his sentence. But do that for the right price.
