Citroën Traction Avant

If you are a fan of the Citroën You can appreciate this photo Traction Avant. It has since become a magical car due to its beauty and rarity. The meaning given to a 'slipper' here is quite different. This text was intended to draw attention to the excellent front-wheel drive.

The innovations of that time are still present in our modern cars. Citroën was groundbreaking in that regard. Maybe that's why it's nice to go back to the text of one Citroën Traction Avant ad in the 50's: “It's one Citroën. The renowned front-wheel drive passenger car. The car that guarantees fast and safe driving. Also on wet roads and sharp bends. (He can't make a slipper!) The nice line. The powerful and solid engine. The strong cantilevered body. These are all arguments that make it Citroën you prefer. But above all this is your personal safety. And it is no bigger in one car Citroën, the champion of solid road holding. ”

Old-fashioned car advertising remains interesting. You can then look back and see that it was depicted in different ways. The technically advanced front-wheel drive (Traction Avant) had the image of Citroën strengthen. And with the text of the 'slipper' they immediately caught the attention of the car enthusiast.

Ask any person to name a car brand that attaches great importance to safety, and the answer will invariably come: "Volvo!"

And that while Citroën years before
played (and plays!) an active role in the development of safety systems.
Think of a one-spoke steering wheel, a sloping dashboard, seat belts, an engine block that slides under the car in the event of a frontal collision, etc etc ...
