Mercedes-Benz has built a unique reputation through its models. The brand is synonymous with class, impeccable technology, meaningful luxury and exceptional comfort. This model, the beautiful coupe, was intended for wealthy people at the time, with high prices, but with the added bonus of plenty of comfort and driving pleasure. Such as the Mercedes-Benz 250 C Coupé of Reimer and Tineke.

A timeless love for Mercedes

That driving pleasure has remained, even now, after more than 50 years, it is a nice car for Reimer and Tineke for many problem-free kilometers. Reimer fell for Mercedes many years ago; his “stars” shine in the warehouse and when he talks about his classics, his eyes shine too! His heart still beats faster at his mini collection:

  • Mercedes-Benz 350 SE from 1973.
  • Mercedes-Benz 500 SL Cabriolet from 1979.
  • Mercedes-Benz 250 C from 1970.

Reimer calls this last type, the Mercedes-Benz 250 C, his “oldie”. The ravages of time do not have to be erased everywhere; scratches and small dents are visible. You can also see the “life” of the car, right?

The pleasure of a classic collection

It is wonderful to admire his collection. Discussion about which type or design is the most beautiful is not necessary. All performances have the necessary charm, and you will not be surprised that he is deafeningly enthusiastic. According to his wife Tineke, Reimer still enjoys the cars as much as the schoolboy of the past, in fact, he spontaneously gets pimples from them again. We say with humor that there is appreciation when the cars are cherished.

In good condition

Reimer: “Over all these years I have kept the cars in good condition, I am not a cleaner, so they are not always shiny and despite that, there is plenty of flirting along the way and I receive (and I mean my Mercedes-Benz 250 C) thumbs up. I actually treat the viewers to a happy feeling and a cheerful smile when I drive by in a calm and balanced driving style. For me it remains a reliable companion full of character, just a charming car from a bygone era.”

Influence on the image

People who care about preserving old models and preserving them for posterity have a positive impact on the brand's image. Reimer doesn't put a “Do Not Touch” sign on his cars; he knows that people like to look with their hands. What could be more fun than lightly gliding your fingertips over the beautiful shapes of the classic, perhaps even with your eyes closed? He would like to invite young people in particular to take a seat behind the wheel of the Mercedes-Benz 250 C and is prepared to tell them everything about its history. Simply because it is fun to interact with other people with a warm enthusiast's heart. Kindness makes (car) and hobby life much more pleasant.

  1. was a striking car at the time because there was no center post at the doors. In the late eighties they were for sale for next to nothing, like many other cars of that time that were classics in statu nascendi

  2. A beautiful car. And with loving care it can last a long time. And if I could give a tip, the engine and engine compartment should look as neat as the rest of the car. Even though it concerns the 'well-oiled technique', it can still look just as slick. With an effective hour or so of cleaning drive, the reward will smile at you. He deserves it! 👍🏼
