Whether a Messerschmitt can appeal to you or not, it is and remains a strong imaginative cart. Nowadays it is called 'high cuddly value'… It used to be, in the years when you could buy a new one for a few thousand guilders. Earlier we informed you that in the Netherlands for a film promotion a caravan sped through the country with advertisements, this was also the case in Great Britain for the promotion of Gleem. That was an American toothpaste - second in the world after Colgate! - in a very special packaging. The brand dates from 1952 and was only withdrawn from the market in 2014, although the umbrella organization Proctor & Gamble indicated that it would make a 'come back' in 2015… The Messerschmitt procession passed through many major British cities in 1956. Special ?!
Photo: You will always see it, if the photographer wants to make a nice picture in 1956 of the Messerschmitt procession with Gleem advertising, a man runs through the image. It must have been one of the drivers, because they had to dress in a 'kitty overall' ...
Nice picture with those Messerschmidts. I draw them. See Hans Stuurman's vintage car gallery.
Yours faithfully,
Hans
