The Mazda MX-5 has been a hit since the introduction in 1989. In April of 2016 the one millionth copy rolled off the band. The idiosyncratic sports car has meanwhile achieved the status of a classic, consists of tin and can rust. Because so many have been built, the prices - even for the first ones - are still low.

Building this kit car requires no specialist skills or any welding on your part, just disassemble the Mazda MX-5. Help can be requested from the supplier or via the MEV Owners Forum. As a donor you can use the Mk1, Mk2 or Mk 2½, the 1,6 or 1,8 or the VVT engine.
