That sounds Italian.
And that's right.
But 'Mezzomar' we are talking about here is about an hour's drive across the border crossing from Arnhem, in the town of Dorsten in the Ruhrgebiet.
We already wrote more about this: A huge coal and steel area that has been transformed into a park landscape full of industrial heritage. To an area where we men can enjoy themselves just as much as our partners.
Because there is rough technology, there are museums, architectural impressions, food and drink are excellent and affordable. There are water sports options.
And, almost forgotten, the Ruhrgebiet is full of classic activities. These are often held on the sites of the former mining or blast furnace locations.
There are the classics and their owners / partners / friends / acquaintances with all the space around them. All kinds of free-flowing audiences come to watch and talk. There is plenty to eat and drink at the locally available stalls. Top.
We are also welcome at Mezzomar in Dorsten on the grounds of the Ehemalige Zeche Fuerst Leopold (where you can also visit the old engine room for the lifts).
The manager of Mezzomar Dorsten, a stylish Italian hospitality business there, hosted an American Car Meeting during our visit.
But he was happy to say that Dutch classic fans and clubs were of course also welcome on site.
In addition, there are plenty of rustic and somewhat dated hotels in the surroundings of this former mine from the time that commercial travelers were still traveling for weeks to do their work.
Oh yes: The food and drinks at Mezzomar are great!
But the Center of nearby Botrop is an environmental zone. The fine that you receive there if you are there with your car older than thirty years, you will be forgiven.
But don't forget the blue card for free parking on Saturdays and Sundays!
