The first AMK Festival will take place in Zandvoort on 29 and 30 April. Auto Motor Klassiek in collaboration with 402 Automotive organizes a varied event with a packed program. One of the items on the menu of the festival, which debuts in the North Holland seaside resort, is the MG Triumph League.
The British auto industry produced many illustrious automobiles. It is not uncommon for sporty roadsters and coupé to be part of the glorious past that was built up on the other side of the North Sea. Austin Healey, MG and Triumph belonged to the category of British car manufacturers, who built sports cars, among other things. Of course, we don't have to tell you that these automakers impressed with numerous models.
British classics
Among other things, MG produced the MG MGA, MG MGB and the MG MGC: impressive and appealing roadsters and coupes that were available in numerous versions and engine variants. Austin Healey built the small Sprite and the much loved 3000 series today. And Triumph added to its sporting potential by building the TR3, TR4, TR5, TR6, GT6 and the Spitfire, as well as sports sedans such as the Dolomite.
Internationally active
The potential was converted into sporty cars, which in turn offered sufficient starting points to be used on the track and other competitions. That has happened to this day. Today, the aforementioned cars have become popular classics, which are still active in competition. For example, the MG Competitions and the Triumph Competitions, serious organizations that are internationally active at historical festivals in the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Belgium.
Together to the line at AMK Festival
The MG and Triumph organization regularly works together. They are also active during the first AMK Festival at Circuitpark Zandvoort during the MG Triumph League. Not only the models of the two brands mentioned will be active. Also drivers with an Austin Healey can be part of the race, which is popular with the drivers who drive this championship. Every year, around 35 participants come to the start of the MG per race Triumph League. To fight. But mainly to pay homage to British heritage together.
