Italjet was quite a serious company in the seventies. The company made motorcycles by providing its own bicycle parts with purchased engine blocks.

And in the early 1970s, Italjet with Buccaneer racers equipped with Yamaha 25 cc twins scored well in the national junior cup.

The Italjet Grifon was a beautiful road motor that was equipped with a Triumph 650 block.

A few years ago, the brand reappeared in Italy with a new Grifon, now a converted Hyosung 650 cc Comet.

Now the Buccaneer is back too, but it is made entirely in China.

We are still wondering whether the marketing approach to breathe new life into old names is actually so effective. Because if there is a full human generation distance between the name lines ...

But for the people who remember, it is of course charming. Then you can tell your child or grandchild that….
