Sybolt from the 'Fryske' Wanswerd is not a member of a classic car club and therefore does not participate in organized rides. But he is very enthusiastic about the pure class of his colossal Opel Diplomat B 5.4 model that he acquired in 2003.

His beautiful 5.4 Opel Diplomat B 1971 remains in the foreground, but on his group of friends - who all have old Opels - he projects his feeling of happiness. For him it is friendship. The mutual solidarity and cosiness - which together with the classic Opel possesses - is the ultimate goal.

At the time, the Opel Diplomat had to be given a prominent position at the top. But the competition in that segment was very strong. In 1977 the curtain fell on this model. Its absolute top model 62-90-RH has a V8 power source with an automatic transmission. To accentuate the luxury, it is equipped with a dark skai roof that harmonizes beautifully with the bright yellow exterior color.
What is of course also important for Sybolt as a real 'Fryske' boy is that a sticker with the Frisian flag is visible. While his clogs for the reverse can also be seen. It will be clear that the Sybolt is not about the monetary value of the beautiful Opel Diplomat B 5.4 but much more about the emotional value.
When Sybolt - together with his friends - populate the roads in North East Friesland in the summer, that warm feeling of togetherness arises every time. And that feeling along with nostalgia, romance and the sympathy is what they need.
