The Manta exists 40 year. The Manta was actually nothing but the Coupé of the Ascona and available as 1600, 1600S and 1900S.
The 1600 with one carburetor and good for 60 pk; the 1600S had a two-stage carburetor and delivered 80 hp, while the top model, the 1900S was good for 90 hp. In 1972 appeared the Manta 1200 with the motor from the Kadett. In 1974 the top model with an 1.900 cc injection engine was good for 105 hp on the market. In 1975 the production of the first Manta model was halted and the buyer public could have already become acquainted with the Manta B. Inside and outside completely different, but still as a rear wheel drive. In 1988 the curtain fell for this Opel blockbuster success to make way for the front-wheel drive Calibra. The Manta is at Opel the model that has been in production the longest. In Germany, but mainly in Belgium.
