Purchasing classics there

Nice weather, nice cars and motorcycles and a large number of visitors. Those were the elements that made the second edition of the Audi Tradition event on the grounds of Audi importer Pon's Automobielhandel a huge success. The biennial event was organized by the Dutch Audi importer in collaboration with the Dutch clubs that are united in the Audi Club International - the Netherlands.

The numerous visitors could enjoy a varied program. The main focus was on the rich history of Audi and its predecessor brands. The topicality of the current Audi model program was also discussed. The General Audi Club, the Audi Sport Club Netherlands, the DKW Club Netherlands and the NSU Club Netherlands were represented with many club members. They took their most beautiful cars and motorcycles to Leusden. It transformed the spacious site into a beautiful overview of the history of Audi and the predecessor brands NSU, DKW and Auto Union. The Horch and Wanderer brands were also present.

Special attractions
Special cars served as a few cars that were not seen in the Netherlands often - or in some cases never before - before. From the collection of the Belgian Audi importer D'Ieteren came the Wanderer 'Stromlinie', an exactly replicated replica of the racing cars from the 'Liège-Rome-Liège' event, and a Wanderer W25K. A Horch 930, an NSU Brixner Spyder competition car and a DKW Monza also attracted the historic connoisseurs.

Sales booths
The aforementioned clubs were also present with their own information stands, while a number of specialized exhibitors sold a wide selection of Audi automobiles, things that made the hearts of many collectors beat faster. Technical workshops, films and demonstration rides with modern Audis were also part of the program.

Concours d'Elegance with rightful winners
One of the highlights of the program was the Concours d'élégance, in which twelve cars and four two-wheelers were presented and were judged by an expert jury - including car journalists Bas van Putten and Werner Budding. Eventually the jury selected the Audi 80 quattro from the Sloterwijk brothers as the winner. The two brothers invested a lot of time, money and effort to restore the car that was originally from 1983 to its original state. It is the car that our sister magazine - and nowadays youngtimerkatern - Auto Motor Youngtimer has already paid extensive attention to. It became clear that Ed and Willem Sloterwijk realized a truly exemplary restoration. The brothers are true Audi devotees who deserve to be put in the limelight for several reasons. The Frisian brothers have played an important role within the AACN for years. Partly as a result of these efforts, they put the brand with the four rings - and in particular the more historical branch - in the spotlight in a detailed and determined manner. Just like they did with the truly beautifully restored and competition winning 80 Quattro.

Enthusiasts can already look forward to the next edition of Audi Tradition, which will take place in two years.
