Purchasing classics there

A hobby is only fun if you hardly have time for it, because then you can look forward to the moments when you are busy with it. There is little better than entering the 'classic' field and tasting the stories of people with a warm car heart. The story of his rare French pearl is one of those.

Short history

Under the care of Wim, this special Panhard was rescued from a stranded project. The story goes that the car was built by Willy Ton, who did an internship at the Panhard factory in Paris and later in Utrecht, based on a Panhard Dyna X, made this creation with a Dutch aluminum body.

The car has a two-cylinder Boxer engine of 850 cc with a weight of only 600 kilos. (So lightweight and easy to keep up with today's traffic.) Willy Ton was therefore not only a car builder, but also a constructor. The car disappeared to Apeldoorn where the strange-looking car disappeared in a shed for no less than 30 years. The rescue campaign started in 2000 when Wim bought the car.

Pros

Wim had some advantages. He knew about the existence of the car very early on and had the necessary skills and work ethic to give the car a new life. But that was no sinecure, a total restoration, a complete engine overhaul. The search for parts was not easy either, his managerial involvement with the Panhard club as manager of the club warehouse fortunately gave him some head start.

Roadworthy in 2008

The 'owner's pride' now plays a major role at Wim. Every time he parks the car, he glances over his shoulder and enjoys the beautiful silhouette of the creation. The beautiful elegant lines of this work of art sometimes cause a commotion. Are your mouths open in amazement at the tasteful, original and unusual appearance, and maybe also some envious glances?

Shine roll

Interesting cars still pop up in unexpected places. This story about the French beauty is an example of this. When Wim tells the story, the enthusiasm is visible and palpable, and what is certain: No one has to request the bank balance to make a purchase, sales are excluded. The Panhard Dyna X Barquette with a very high cuddly content remains its star role – in combination with owner pride – as a storage model under Wim's care.
