That cap also suits you: Blue flashing lights on classics. Is that allowed?

Via a line about the problems of someone with a 'classic', so retired 'priority vehicle', it came up again:

Can the blue flashing lights remain on such a former official? Because that is a lot more real. However?

No. In fact, that is not allowed. Even if there are no lights and no wiring and on / off switch. It is also not allowed on ex officials who are established from other countries.

Because:

1) Article 5.2.65 and all other vehicles
Addition
Passenger cars / etc not in use with the services referred to in articles 29, first paragraph, and 30b of the RVV 1990, may not be equipped with light fittings for blue flashing, flashing or flashing lights.

2) Vehicles may not be equipped with more lights and retro-reflecting facilities than those that are explicitly required or permitted. Only drivers of motor vehicles as referred to in articles 29, first paragraph, and 30b of the Traffic Rules and Traffic Signs Regulations 1990 (RVV 1990), the so-called 'priority vehicles', may use blue flashing, flashing and flashing lights. In order to prevent the use of blue flashing, flashing or blinking lights on vehicles other than priority vehicles, the prohibition on the use of luminaires for these lights has been moved from the 'Mode of Inspections' to the requirements. This way it is better to maintain this, even if the lamp has been removed from the fixture.

By the way, an exemption can be obtained, but this must be applied for separately from each road manager.

So that will take a lot of time and money.

But old police cars can even be a revenue model:

Politieauto.nl Jan Wijnakker also has permission for 2016 from the IFV (Institute for Physical Safety), formerly LFR (National Facility for Disaster Relief), on behalf of the Dutch State, to rent out vehicles that have the correct striping and blue lighting.

The company supplies the right police cars, motorbikes and buses for TV or film productions. It can also provide the correct uniforms that belong to the vehicles and provide trained extras / actors.

And of course you can always be lucky to encounter reasonable thinking agents who find it all funny and leave it at a warning ...

It became difficult for the owner of an Ex Polizei beetle. He had restored the VW to the former company colors. And because it was his second former police vehicle, he had proudly labeled it with the words "Polizwei".

Not everyone appreciated or appreciated that
