Much has already been written about the current petrol dredger, which mainly consists of excise duties. But when our classics go into hibernation we call it again… The old rule of putting a car or motorcycle away with a full tank before its winter break… Don't do it again! The tank and float tanks must be empty. Then they may be filled with a few liters of Aspen petrol. Different…
Most things are shit these days. All scams, for the main prize 🙁
GSpecialBreak from 1976 and CXTi 2400 pas de probleme
PREVIOUSLY (I'm talking about 15 years ago) then I could park several cars for 2 years or even longer, and after that it was still running smoothly, no hassle with blockages, BUT NOW! If I stop a car for a year now, the whole carburettor is white inside and the tank there is a foul smell of old fuel, THE GASOLINE IS REALLY DREDGING NOW !!!!
My capri had stood still for more than a year due to circumstances and nothing, no starting problems, click and walk and just with that stuff that was still in the tank, so !! ??
in '95 I parked my Opel Monza 3.0L and in '09 I started it for the first time, after 3min it started and the gasoline that was still in it I used without any problems by touring it
Gasoline really does age. When my Harley has stopped for a few months, he doesn't want to catch on. If I drain the float bin and pour in fresh gasoline from the tank, it immediately starts. At work we have many machines such as chain saws and brushcutters, which we always fill with aspen if they are not used for a longer period of time. Incidentally, there is also an addition for sale, to throw in the gasoline so that it lasts longer.
Also find this Indian stories. Our car also regularly stands still for a long time (months). It is then a matter of briefly turning the ignition key, and the engine runs without problems.
I think the problems are being seriously exaggerated.
THE CONDITION OF THIS IS THAT IT EATES ALL YOUR PACKAGING / GASKETS AND YOU CAN REPLACE EVERYTHING WHEN YOU TAKE IT OUT OF THE STORAGE …… .. Speak from experience !!!!!!!!!!
at 6 to 10 months gasoline is not "rotten" bullshit so! unless you let your tank content last for a whole summer, in other words, putting the car / motorcycle away with a little fuel does not hurt, draining the float chamber, for example, is unnecessary!
Totally agree! Today's "injured" gasoline consists of so much chemical stuff that it can't be kept for more than a month or so anyway. That is why it is highly advisable to use petrol from Aspen or Cleanlife for the storage!
