During his working hobby (car) life, Joop Venema, as a great Renault enthusiast, has refurbished or thoroughly restored a stream of cars. Even now at the age of 74, he cannot do without the smell of oil and gasoline, the industrious tinkerer has remained in him. He still loves to snoop around the 'old stuff' to find parts for his projects again. As with this Renault 4 TL.

This Renault 4 TL from 1992 was his last big job. Actually an impossible mission, because the 'foursome' was in a sad state and was in fact ready for demolition. Renault continues to play a major role for Joop. After all, you used to see the Renault 4 on every corner of the street. (The interest in days gone by is a common human trait.)
Also nice to read:
- Driving the Renault 4. A smile on the face.
- Renault 6. Familiar basic, logical program interpretation
- Renault Fuego. It remained with smoldering
- Renault 5. Successful compact and at home in all markets

Restoration of the Renault 4 TL
Making something from 'nothing' started with the chassis. The bottom had perished and the sills were virtually gone. All sheet metal, the fenders the doors everything had to be replaced. Actually, a running engine was the only positive thing about the wreck.
When after six months - with a lot of perseverance - everything was replaced, it seemed to him a good idea to make the car 'tidy'. No paintwork, just the roll with glossy paint, but in a color scheme that appealed to him personally. Joop is not a cleaner, but just wants to tinker and enjoy. Good looks are less important to him. Good driving all the more. Passion for a classic car can be different for all of us, for Joop it is just Renault. And the 'four', the Renault 4 TL, which give him the good memories of his (car) past.
As a tribute, he has also put a large Renault emblem on his four. To say it humorously to say "It's a thing of joy". How far can the love for a key-friendly and popular Renault 4 TL go?
and again no photo repottage very unfortunate
Hello John, thank you for your response. Of course they are not complete reports, so a photo reportage goes a bit too far with this kind of article.
Awesome! Great car also that Renault 4. It is not for nothing that there are 8,5 million built.
