In the Frisian village of Metslawier there is a special vintage car museum that can be found under the name 'The Veteran'. The owner has the museum purely as a hobby and cannot get enough of it, whether it is about motorbikes, tools or classic cars. He also calls the shed behind his home the 'rust empire'. This Renault Celtaquatre from 1937 is clearly an exception to that, it shines from far away. Obviously, it receives a lot of admiration, but more importantly; people also come to 'neighborhoods' to view the collection. He gives a personal interpretation to the hobby, he can bring engines back to life, it is just a hard-working person with golden hands. This Renault is his 'tangible' love, he thinks you should cherish cars from days gone by and therefore gives everyone the opportunity to look and enjoy. According to him you can steal ... well steal the show then. He proves that with his special possession. Dirk de Jong
It is wonderful that people like this still exist, and even better that Auto-Motor Klassiek this print. I lived in the Netherlands until I was 28 and never heard of this village. When I was growing up Friesland was so far away from Hilversum, at most you had heard of it but it stopped. The Dutch way, if you have nothing to look for you won't get there, that was true too.
Wonderful that Renault.
Thank you AMK.
ps I don't have a spell check for Dutch, mistakes must be overlooked, so did they in Soestdijk.
