Last weekend the Renault Relay Club had a special meeting in Middelbeers to celebrate the 65th anniversary of this iconic model. It was a great event, with about 50 Relays coming from home and abroad – even from Switzerland! Frank de Laat was there for AMK and took pictures.
There were various models present, ranging from vans and campers to the rare 9-seater vans, recognizable by the roof windows. A particularly nice detail was a relay with the agents from the famous “Gendarmes” films with Louis de Funès in front of the window, which brought a smile to the faces of many visitors.
It was great to see so many of these little workhorses together. They were once reliable work vans, and they still exude a nostalgic charm. The atmosphere was great and the weather cooperated. A weekend not to forget!
