Facel Vega was the name of a French car manufacturer founded in 1938 by Jean Daninos. Initially, the company focused on pressing bodywork for various car brands. Delahaye and Panhard, among others, were customers. In 1953, Facel (abbreviation for Forges and Ateliers de Construction d'Eure and the Loire) to start building cars. The company did that up to and including 1964. In that year it went bankrupt. Some 1953 cars were built in the period from 1964 to 2.600.
