Auction house RM Sotheby's has been a household name in the field of the organization of high-profile auctions of beautiful and exclusive classic cars for years. However, the auction house is organizing an auction with a very special and one-off character in from 27 to November 29: Duemila Ruote.
In the autumn the auction of an impressive private collection will take place in Milan. That is not just a collection. Among other things, 430 collected cars from after the Second World War will be auctioned. The fleet to be auctioned is part of a varied and extensive private collection that consists of more than 800 units. In addition to the cars, motorbikes, bicycles, automobilia and exclusive boats are also auctioned.
Biggest auction of 21e century
Duemila Ruote will go down in history as the largest auction of the 21e century. It is also the largest European car auction in history. The collection is extensive and has an Italian focus. That's how early ones come Alfa Romeo Spiders on the list. And those interested can also count on real exotics. The collection includes a Ferrari 275 with aluminum body and six carburettors. It is the ultimate version among the 275 versions. Van der Velden also mentions a few exotics from Italian soil, such as the Maserati MC 12, and an extremely rare Lancia LC 02 racing car.
60 times Porsche 911, unique parts
Although the core of the offer has an Italian origin, classics from other countries will also find their place in the auction catalog. For example, the private collection to be auctioned contains at least 60 copies of the Porsche 911, which have years of construction from 1965 to a few years ago. Both air-cooled and water-cooled versions of the 911 will therefore be offered. Duemila Rutoe has a wide variety within the range. Both in terms of construction period and in terms of price.

The oldtimers and youngtimers move within a price range, starting at a few thousand euros and continuing up to a few million euros. This specific collection covers an area from rare parts to exclusive engines.
No reserve price
The collection will be auctioned spread over several days. None of the offered objects will be linked to a reserve price (minimum price). It gives this auction a very special character. And it means that low thresholds and a resulting expected large influx of audiences and candidates will be generated.
