During the late fifties and early sixties, buying a convertible was a pure luxury. Nevertheless, several manufacturers within the somewhat smaller segment made room in their program for an open car. A few examples. Renault had the Floride in the program, and Morris had a permanent place for the Tourer within the Minor range. The same applied to Singer in relation to the Gazelle. And in the Bohemian Kvasiny, the Škoda Felicia rolled off the production line from 1959 as the successor to the 450. You rarely come across the Eastern European. However, Peter Visser has such an open Czech. And we were happy to make a report with Peter and his Škoda.

The Felicia was the open descendant within the 'Spartak series' of Škoda. You have recently read a lot about this series in these columns, and in the magazine you can read more about the history of the Felicia as a separate model. We return in retrospect to the fifties, and describe the Felicia and its predecessor in detail. Of course, we also pay ample attention to Peter Visser's love for his car and for classic cars in general. The owner has a fascination for the relics from the Czech automotive industry of yesteryear.

His collection also includes the black Felicia. And we really liked this car. You can still see today how much Škoda was attached to excellent build quality and an attractive finish. Peter's Škoda Felicia has certainly stood the test of time well. We describe Peter's love of cars and the ins and outs of his black Felicia in detail.

In addition, Škoda is celebrating its 130th anniversary this year, or rather: its one hundred and thirty-year origins. In the eight-page report in AMK 6-2025, we will discuss in detail a number of highlights from the history of the manufacturer, which has become an indispensable part of the broad and ever-changing spectrum of the automotive industry. And to complete the matter, you will also find the In-Depth Column, which takes a closer look at the history and historical image of the manufacturer from Mladá Boleslav.
