De Triumph Vitesse with that beautiful sounding 1600 or 2 liter six-cylinder engine is no stranger to classic circles. The Triumph Herald with the four-cylinder likewise, but one Triumph Herald with a zespitter? You just have to come across it!
On the way to an address in the British Nuneaton, attention was drawn to a non-original Herald. Slightly slowing down and then the badge on the boot lid falls on 'Herald 6'… It appears that the owner of this Herald, dating from 1968, has spooned in an 2 liter six-cylinder. Is not so much work, because the Herald was also the basis for the Vitesse. A bit wider wheels on it, larger brake discs, even a roll bar and you have something special, something to get along with in today's traffic ... Does something like that make you think?
Interesting conversion because the original 1200/12/50 hood is still on it. Wonder if there's one Triumph 6 pitter built in line. Normally this is not possible because there is not enough space left for the radiator and because the hood in the middle comes out too low. Reason for the factory to give the Vitesse a slightly different hood. With a 13/60 hood you have enough space.
