It is still for sale on the BCA Auctions site: The Van Veen Kreidler sprint engine with which Aalt Toersen in October 1968 set three world records in the British Elvingon.
A year after that sensation, the Kreidler disappeared 'under the radar'. 42 Years later, he was found back in Amsterdam. In a container full of old bicycles.
After that, the Kreidler was completely restored to its former glory.
The machine - the machine - is now on the BCA site, with 11.000 euro as the last bid.
And that does not seem much for such a piece of history that is also a jewel for every living room.
