For many enthusiasts, the ultimate goal is to ever own a Porsche. For some, only an air-cooled one is sufficient, while for others, any car with the Stuttgart emblem would be welcome. But for a growing number of true connoisseurs of the brand, buying a 911 is just the way to a whole new world of collecting, as the following ones make possible…

Porsche 911 Carrera RS 1992

The real Porsche fanatic is of course looking for the limited edition variants of the brand. Instead of the basic Carrera model, they opt for the Carrera RS. Considered by collectors to be the purest form of 911. With a powerful 3,6-liter engine and original black-over-purple color scheme, this 911 Porsche 1992 Carrera RS embodies the brand's unique blend of thoughtful engineering and bold customization options. Porsche realized very early on that their customers did not want to be limited in their choice of paint colors or interior. An unofficial “Porsche Special Wishes” department was opened to satisfy them. Now an official division known as Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur has given every car that traces its origins back to this division a personal touch; and is all the more valuable because of it. Sometimes the most colorful description is not about a color at all. The so-called “Triple Black” option, as seen on this 911 Porsche 2 Carrera 1991 Coupé, Code 700 (black) paint over a black leather interior with a black headlining is a deliberately subtle choice, which reduces the appearance of wear over the long term. And with 122.000 km on the clock, it is clear that this black-on-black Carrera was cherished by the previous owner. More about the 1991 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Coupé via this link.

911 Porsche 2.7 Carrera 1975 Coupé

You would think that the paint is the most important item in a Porsche. But there were unique upgrades available that were not limited to appearance. The origins of the 993-era RS shown earlier date back two decades. Based on performance-oriented examples such as this Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 Coupé from 1975. Of which only 395 were produced for the American market. Starting with new ownership from an American naval officer, this American-spec Carrera looked more like the more powerful variants offered outside of America. Lowered to European driving height and equipped with European H1 quad-bulb headlamps, improved chain tensioners, new shock absorbers, suspension bushings and dynamo, this Porsche is not only adapted to the owner's taste, but also well adjusted and timed on a power bank. Porsche 911 Turbo 'Group B' 1987

Although Porsche's motorsport division is known for its technical acumen, there were more tuners that could assist the owner with his or her personal taste and performance. This 911 Porsche 1987 Turbo 'Group B' benefited from an improved 935-type adjustable 'boost control' with a larger intercooler, oil cooler and turbocharger - all installed to factory 'Group B' specifications by the Swedish Porsche importer. Due to the extensive modifications required, this kit could only be installed by the Porsche factory or VAG importers, making this example even more desirable than a typical Turbo. Orsche 911 S 2.2 Coupé Prototype 1969

But even an exceptionally rare 930 variant pales in addition to a factory prototype. This happy 911 Porsche 2.2 S 1969 Coupé prototype was taken out of production by Porsche's test department and factory-fitted with an early-developed 2,2-liter Type 911/02 engine. Porsche studied this example in its factories in Germany to test the compatibility of the all-new engine with their existing five-speed gearbox. After testing, the first owner of this prototype was Porsche Cars North America, where it was equipped with lighting and instruments according to American specifications and then passed into private ownership.

While it makes sense why this rare prototype - the only 12th built; a real piece of Porsche history - deserves to be preserved, it is still difficult to appreciate something like that. The Porsche was recently completely restored, whereby the car was completely white and the chassis and suspension were taken care of. The engine was completely overhauled in the Netherlands by brand specialist DUEL Motorsports / Dutch Engine Laboratories. After which this unique piece of Porsche history was treated in the right way by the current seller. Now this unique car is ready for the new owner to enjoy. 1. Whaha, but it remains a flattened beetle, which is way too expensive to maintain! A Corvet bv, is much more normal in terms of price!
