Handy to know, Toyota MR2 lasts a maximum of 10 years

Now that the Toyota MR2 has achieved the status of a youngtimer, there are many enthusiasts who prey on such a trolley, so it's good to know that the radiator will last for a maximum of 10 years. Regardless of the mileage! After reading this, we already see you running outside to inspect that part. You totally happy, because the thing still looks great.

Replace radiator

Miss, replaced, regardless of the (visual) condition! So order a new radiator from the official dealer. But then. Drain everything. The engine is in the back, the radiator in the front. The next challenge is to catch the outflowing coolant, because just running into the planet is not an option. Consider the environment. Disassemble the radiator and then it becomes clear why it lasts a maximum of 10 years. The front is badly damaged by crushed stone from the cars, trucks and vans that once drove it, but the radiator also dissolves itself. You only have to stroke it and it is'ashes to ashes, dust to dust". Re-assemble everything, close all the taps and fill. With 11 liters of coolant ...

  1. Years ago my Toyota Starlet (not an MR2) radiator was damaged by crushed stone and I had to renew it. After a job I made a flyhorse for it and my 29-year-old Starlet still has a radiator as if he came from the warehouse like that. And I wanted to pass that on here.
