Moto Guzzi's SP line has never been a success and the SP3 was the low point in the sales of that series. The twin used as a BMW beater turned out to be unsuitable for Europeans in actual size, and the lines were not the most convincing proof of Italian design genius.
But then comes the moment that such a plastic-clad Italian is stripped to detect an electrical fault.
And then under the burka look it appears that there is such a beautiful and fantastic steering Tonti frame.
Then it suddenly becomes clear why original SPs are once worth a huge amount of money: they are still seen today as a fantastic and inexpensive starting point for tailor-made Moto Guzzi.
Such an SP is usually reborn as a cafe racer. And that makes the loss of the original a bit less painful.
But: SP owners of all countries. Save original SP parts at any price. Because someday they will be worth money!
