A Van Veen Wankel for 80.000 euros. That is not cat water ... The sale of the Van Veen Wankel took place via Catawiki. John Searle, motorcycle expert at that auction house reported that it was about one of the first produced Van Veen Wankel. The machine only had about 100 km on the clock.
The engine has since been relocated to Germany.
John Searle notes that the market for classic motorcycles is shifting. The beautiful specimens no longer go to enthusiasts, but to investors.
And that is actually a shame.
And then there was / was the project of Andries Wielinga and Dirk Knip, two men who had gathered (almost) enough NOS together to make 10 new, improved in detail, original OCR 1000s. (info@ocrmotors.com). Such a completely new OCR in 2010 would cost something of 85000 euros.
We still have to go after that story
