Appelscha was flooded 15 September by the classic and old-timer enthusiasts. In just six years, the Oldtimerday has undergone enormous growth, and this time it had no fewer than 3300 participants. All in all with 3300 vehicles. 30.000 visitors came to that. Yes, that's a lot of people. Admission was therefore not levied and visitors could enjoy the present transportation without having to go deep into the pocket.
They arrived from the Netherlands, but also from Belgium and Germany. Varying from cars and buses to bicycles and steam engines, from army vehicles and a UN tank to idling engines, old racing engines and cars. The agricultural vehicles were represented by a large number of tractors and a classic threshing machine, caravans and pile drivers. A number of special car clubs attended the event with, among others, Aston Martins, Renault Alpines, Citroën, Ford, Fiat and Borgward.
The annual fair had more than eighty stalls with miniatures, car parts, books and other market goods. For the children there was the opportunity to take a ride behind a real steam locomotive. In short, we can proudly look back on an extremely successful day. The 3de Saturday in September 2013 the 7th edition will take place. Thanks to this report it will of course be a lot more. Make a note of this date now in your diary and enjoy the photos that the organization sent us.
