Hans Warnirs from Grijpskerk in Groningen, together with his brother Bert, has enormous perseverance. With the aim of collecting a special variety of classics and vintage cars such as this VW Golf type 1.
They keep nostalgic transport on the road. And you can see that perseverance in the repair and restoration of a genuine Leyland passenger bus, a Volvo F 10, an Opel Blitz and a few Scania trucks.
His passenger car division now consists of an Opel B Kadett and this very beautiful Golf. As a truck driver he has a suitcase full of memories of these cars.
De VW Golf is a diesel version from 1977, which he purchased in 1989, and has now been in his possession for 30 years. In its more than 40 year existence, the Golf has already experienced a lot, and yet no major problems with rust, but with wear and tear on the engine that had to be replaced. The kilometers of both engines added together is the counter at 1,3 million. Talk about solid and reliability.

A Volkswagen golf 1 solid?
Remember that they were working at the Rotterdam dealer at night when they were replacing the camshafts because they were worn out in no time before the gas pump.
The customers were not allowed to know this, so the car was lured to the garage with an excuse to do the work in the night (customer was not allowed to know it).
And this is often the case with German Transport, preferably in the dark.
But this specimen has naturally survived a few decades ... so solid and reliable.
