Where did they go: all those Lada's

Purchasing classics there

Just after the fall of communism, buyers in their newly found capitalism scoured the Western market in search of ... Lada's.

They usually boarded - say 'Russian' - ships as a deck load. The stories are that they were demolished on board there and that the bare carriages from the piers of IJmuiden went overboard. Apparently there was a lot of demand for Lada parts at the time. A typical case of 'where did they go' was solved.

In the meantime, it is difficult to find another (neat) Lada. We are actually curious how many are left?
Any idea?

  1. A few months ago I bought a 2105 1.5. With some polishing it has become a very neat car again, but indeed, they are becoming scarce. Still, copies regularly appear, so if you want to get one, just wait patiently and then strike. By the way, it's a great thing, such a Lada, and views are guaranteed.
