Windfalls in the month of December

December is an expensive month for most people. They celebrate the Sinterklaas party and there is also a lot going on for Christmas. Even if it's just to eat extra tasty and decorate the house. Fortunately, the sale has since started and those who do not mind buying a new car that will be registered in the month of December can also benefit greatly. But you don't need a new car every year.

A visit to the Louwman museum, which opened in 2010, had been planned for a long time. Not that we hadn't been there yet. Even several times. But all those times we hadn't gotten further than the large hall on the ground floor. We had not yet been allowed to view the collection and the way it was exhibited. On Saturday December 3 the time had come. One afternoon when a lot of people were still stressing to finish their surprises and to write an appropriate rhyme, we were finally able to walk through the museum at ease. It was a lot of fun to recognize cars that we had already seen at events outside the museum. That honors the collector in my opinion. If possible, the cars are still used regularly. At the entrance we were told that the viewing of the collection would take two to two and a half hours. But we had not seen everything after just under five hours. The museum also has a museum shop and we also wanted to make a choice from the books on offer. Suddenly my eye fell on the calendar for 2012. They had cleverly hung the plates of all the months on the wall so that you did not have to struggle with the large calendar to see which cars were on it. Immediately my eye was caught by the image of the month of June. The Jaguar D type with which the Ecurie Ecosse team won again in Le Mans in 1957. I am a big fan of that team and even have two models of the special transporter. The month of March shows a Ferrari 750 Monza Scaglietti Spider Works Team Car and the picture for the month of November is an original 1929 Mercedes-Benz SSK with matching numbers. The pictures for the other months also show beautiful automobiles and carriages and it was decided to purchase the calendar. The size is 44 by 54 centimeters and we knew the price was 19,90. But at checkout, we had a pleasant surprise. Because it was already December and there were still many calendars in stock, the price was reduced by 50%.
