Purchasing classics there

Some time ago I registered Auto Motor Klassiek that working from home is a great solution to counteract the burden on the infrastructure. In addition, the environment benefits from it, however you turn or turn it, there is less emissions. The worrying developments surrounding the coronavirus have unintentionally accelerated the phenomenon of working from home.

Not long ago, before Corona emerged in China, nitrogen, farmers, soot tax and speed reduction were the issues that concerned us. Or the electric and generous subsidized terror, which put the beautiful fossil technique in a carbon black perspective. Those things have now been pushed into the background, although from yesterday between 6.00 a.m. and 19.00 p.m. we should not exceed 100 kilometers per hour. Nothing has changed about that. The concerns about corona and all the consequences of the measures surrounding the virus put the annoyance about the maximum speed and everything else in a relative perspective. It's survival now, it's that simple. And we must make a big contribution to that. Just like the government does with verve and decisiveness.

Emergency action reveals benefits

Everyone who had the opportunity in terms of job and family composition was urged to work from home as much as possible. And that has been responded to, en masse. Besides the fact that it is currently risk mitigating, there are more benefits to come. Traffic congestion suddenly seems to be a concept from a distant past, who really has to hit the road is quickly at its destination, the environment is spared and no unnecessary and precious hours are lost. The traffic pressure is decreasing, there is space and road safety also benefits.

Digital era ideal infrastructure for new working

In addition, staff working from home is also attractive for the employer. Less time is lost on personal consultation, you are less distracted by social interaction, you can focus more on the content of the work and therefore be more productive. Moreover, we no longer live in the time when Joop den Uyl addressed the people in 1973, however much we are nostalgically attracted to that period. Today and tomorrow we can do a lot thanks to the digital infrastructure. Can Prime Minister Rutte ask us to work from home as much as possible. You can log in to your employer's network within your own walls. You can communicate via video, you can send short messages quickly and the telephone consultation also proves to be more efficient. Today's possibilities and problems offer solutions. Working from home is one of them, especially when it comes to a few days a week. The possibilities are there, also for the long term.

Reflection in difficult times

The government is currently full of control, regulation and management of the Corona crisis. In all areas, certainly also economically. Nevertheless, it is precisely this period that is good for reflection. Because the Netherlands shows how fast it can switch. How it is heading for solutions. However simple the transformation to working from home and a different division of the day can take place. That is valuable luggage for the future. Moreover, (partial) working from home is a structural outcome for employers. They are presented with considerably lower bills, for example for fuel costs and travel costs. In addition, the employee pays less car costs for commuting, travel allowance or not. Of course, this will have to cost home workers. All this in the perspective of today, in which all efforts must be made to keep things afloat.

More flexible than we think

Working from home is now and soon a great solution for relieving the burden on the infrastructure, and also for the environment. As strange as it may sound in these times: this is the time to also look at the era after Corona. To reflect. And to think about a way in which fixed ideas can be replaced by the new sober reality. Facilitating a few days working from home per week offers several advantages. And that is a cheaper alternative than taking expensive measures. It is more attractive than complete sector shutdown. And, for example, pushing the driver and the classic enthusiast into the corner. It is good to think about that future of the new way of working, even though Corona has put us in an uncertain position to live by the day. It is the day that also teaches us that we are much more flexible than we ever thought. And that good solutions are sometimes born out of necessity.
