Work or stuff and land low wages. A lot has been said about this. In the meantime we have spotted a trend that apparently continues:
There in the Abroad, whether it is China or Poland, it is apparently very difficult to guarantee quality if the local workers are not constantly and tightly supervised.
And if parts or work are here after a while and the quality is disappointing? Then Chinese producers simply do not give home and ex Eastern block professionals want to get the job done. Only the car has to go back for that. And that takes time, costs money again ...
The Peugeot 504 Coupe, for example, had to be repaired by an acquaintance after being restored in Poland here in the Netherlands. Only then was the result satisfactory.
So it doesn't even have to be more expensive to have a restoration carried out here in the Netherlands.
David Nieuwenhuis of DN Restorations from De Meern, for example, is one of the entrepreneurs who even returned to the Netherlands from Poland. Because the craftsmanship is still here. And because 'cheap' is all too often 'expensive' in practice.
Whatever you decide: be well informed, make clear agreements and put them on paper.
