About 130 cars appeared at Kasteel Ophemert in Gelderland for the 15e Venniper Koninginnerit on 27 April. A different starting location than usual, because it was an extra special edition, the 15e.

After a warm welcome from the castle ladies, it started in a rainy direction towards the silver city of Schoonhoven via a beautiful route. There the crews could enjoy lunch and it went back to Nieuw-Vennep in the afternoon. That afternoon it cleared up considerably and the hoods could open.

Beautiful classics such as the Jaguar E-Type took part in the ride, Citroën Traction Avant, Tatra T87 and Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Special. Very exclusive old-timers also participated, such as a series of pre-war vintage cars such as the Aston Martin Mark II Le Mans, Singer Le Mans, MG J2 and Amilcar CGSs. Only cars from 1975 or earlier participate in the Venniper Koninginnerit. An exception was made for the 911 Porsche 1992 of the National Police, which was out of competition. An icon of Dutch roads. The driver and navigator rode the classic ride, dressed in white coats and half helmets.

Upon arrival in sunny Nieuw-Vennep, the participants received a beautiful photo that was taken earlier that morning by photographer Rob Joore at the start. Spectators were given the opportunity to take a closer look at the classics in the parking lot. In the meantime, the afternoon was filled in musically by The Shadow Faction, The Murphy Jets and The Triolettes. The prizes were awarded by the Queen of New Vennep, Tea Roubos. Jos and Heidi van der Steeg won the appearance prize. In the Tour class, Gerard and Anja van den Top won in their BMW 2002 tii L (1973). In the vintage class, just like last year, Arie and Tineke Roest won in their Wolseley Hornet Sports (1930). In the sports class Tim Brügemann and Mike Kastrop won in their Porsche 356C (1965). This year they were also allowed to take home the De Meerse Accountants challenge cup.

The reactions of participants and spectators were extremely positive. The organization looks back with satisfaction at a very successful event.

Photos of the event will be available soon at www.vkrit.nl.
