Now that the holiday period is over, normal life has resumed. During this period, everyone is preparing for the annual final sprint. This period is also characterized by making decisions for the following calendar year.

There are also exceptions. Because the Autobelangen Foundation / vrijstellingoldtimer.nl has been making high-level efforts towards The Hague politicians for months. Without taking a breather. Wouter van Embden cum suis proceed in a very thorough way to reverse the all-important old-timer paragraph in the coalition agreement and the resulting MRB agreement.

I have news for you: there is a good chance that it will work. Because the hard-working advocates now have a lot of clear information on the table. This is characterized by an explicit legal shadow. The ever-increasing file shows that at least it is doubtful whether the announced measures - and the subsequent MRB agreement of April this year - can stand the test of Lady Justice.

The chance of that seems small. It is not without reason that Vrijstellingoldtimer.nl now has top lawyer Mr. Tom Barkhuysen in the arm. And that confirms - albeit very diplomatically - that there is disproportionate ("the target group can never be financially adjusted on three measures within four years"). In addition, the current Van Vliet Amendment would only be evaluated in 2015. Furthermore, there appears to be little influence on the pollution thanks to Co2 emissions. It appears to have been at the same level in our country for years. So environmental reasons can also be wiped off the table. In addition, the measure only costs money.

Earlier I indicated that cartloads of direct tax revenue will disappear (“old car” and industry) and the resulting financial spin-off will have a negative effect on the national budget. (Sales tax, insurance tax, suppliers and many lost jobs - so benefits.) It is therefore important that the oldtimer paragraph and the resulting motor vehicle tax agreement are sent to eternal hunting grounds as quickly as possible. But who then thinks: “resolved” will be disappointed. If it is established that political The Hague, based on legal quicksand, caused a lot of damage to the oldtimer and youngtimer industry, a whole new dimension will be added to the dossier.

Now the people in The Hague will still be satisfied with the fact that the paragraph in the coalition agreement shows a new decline in imported cars built between 1973 and 1987. But Vrijstellingoldtimer.nl shows that the exemption file already has major consequences for owners, branch and government office. Gradually, the satisfied spider of our top officials will transform into head-breaking grunts. A victory of Vrijstellingoldtimer.nl will be the start of a new episode, which is very undesirable by The Hague. That can just be characterized by legal proceedings and damage claims from owners and industry.

Because with the excellent vintage car file, Van Embden cum suis already shows that the further decline in the import of "old cars" is the result of a paragraph in the Coalition Agreement that probably should never have been written. If Vrijstellingoldtimer.nl manages to maintain the Van Vliet Amendment, that is a good result.

And, above all, a logical consequence of the crazily written old-timer paragraph.

  1. So you see again, there are still people who think MORE than the storm troops in The Hague! There is still a world of difference between thinking and calling nonsense spending cuts and their consequences.

  2. we cannot resolve this issue at int.nat. court, so that someone who still has a hobby who can continue to practice, where do our pleasant weekends go?
    all to the hague!

  3. A small child could say from the outset that this unpopular scheme has a complete counterproductive effect on the treasury. I just couldn't put it so beautifully but knew it immediately when it became known what plans are imminent. I would actually like to know if the intended income from MRB of oldtimers also calculates how many owners would get rid of their old car (s) because they simply can no longer afford their car, what impact this has on the aftermarket of parts, missed excise duty at the pump because many liters less fuel is burned and sold, benefits of older employees who, after being dismissed, are no longer able to get their money's worth and remain in a benefit situation for a long time. there are even more entrepreneurs who see their source of income melt away, such as used car dealers, etc. I cannot imagine that there is a + at the bottom of the line. Moreover, I think the Government with its umpteenth change in the MRB issue has proven to be an unreliable partner that the Mr. Tom Barkhuysen mi on the right (if it comes to that) pick his / d'r mind. that's what I think it is.

  4. Just be creative and buy a classic car with "petrol" on the license plate and an LPG preparation so that the tank can easily be put in and out. Stealing is not allowed, even if it will be called tax all at once, so just draw up your own plan because in the Netherlands it is really time for a bit of civil disobedience.

  5. We must all make sure that this VVD (association of thieves) and PVDa (cocks of the poor) government are no longer re-elected. It is crazy that they help everything in their reign and not themselves have a little bit of pain, let them themselves go and pay road taxes for their state bins and also a substantial addition for their use
We are all in this crisis caused by criminal banks and our government.
So the same monks, the same hoods that dogs handle.

    I spoke and greeted

  6. we have experienced this before with the abolition of the gray license plate
so private individuals suddenly started paying 5x as much road tax !! they must first ensure that those tens of thousands of poles who live here permanently also pay road tax. because there is no road tax for Nop ip Poland.

  7. hello I wanted to say something here that the hague can get a big right in his pants.
look it is so all these years that the oldtimer are in here you have always had a letter from the tax
that you are exempt. and now this goes on with back the power that can't just be. then you have to do them scaden or harm cleam for anyone who has an oldtimer and then you go to the high court so do business with them all so in short they do a breach of contract

    • Our politicians always promise everything. Especially before the elections. Politicians have different agendas such as safety or health, but because the financial agenda almost always has priority, norms and values are quickly swept off the table. Rutte had also promised that the mortgage interest deduction would not be altered. He even told us we could look forward to tax cuts. We all know by now that Rutte has made himself the biggest liar of the previous elections. In any case, we can again conclude that politicians are completely unreliable.
In this country we have incompetent politicians who have no message to the bourgeoisie. In order to put themselves on the map, they think it is necessary to change the rules every time, as a result of which we as citizens often have no idea where we stand. Whether it is the rude BPM, the childcare allowance, an addition or the mortgage interest deduction.
We have reached the point where we cannot plan far in this country because the rules change every time. You might as well live in a real banana republic. That is certainly a lot cheaper.

  8. How “smart” they were doing in The Hague.
With my Alfa from 1972, Daf from 1973 and BMW from 1986, I wish that these kind of folklorists
    be tackled once.
Pay enough tax to keep those “experts” working.
Although, does inventing this kind of incompetence have to be paid for ?!

  9. This whole situation shows again clearly that our politicians are incompetent and cannot count. The fact that the whole of the Netherlands has been in the dark for almost a year about a regulation that may take effect in 4 months also proves that these amateur drivers are antisocial. They have done such things before with gray license plates and that has also cost many a lot of money.
Our court jester Rutte is completely fixated on his “3 percent” and that has enormous consequences. While the entire small and medium-sized company is begging for a VAT reduction, this stupid cabinet is looking for a next VAT increase. Complete raids in which everyone is stopped by the police, in collaboration with the tax authorities, to try to save as much money as possible from the Dutch citizen. After all, there is always something for which someone can be fined. Now all of a sudden boats are being checked under the guise of safety and any stolen goods. Coincidentally, also in collaboration with the tax authorities. Numerous civil servants (with retention of benefits) have been put to work at the tax authorities to screen us on benefits and deductions received.
It is time for new elections in which the liars of the VVD (Confusion, People's Verification and Demotivation) will be beaten.
GOVERNMENT IS WHAT ANY OTHER THAN MONEY

  10. I think that we will recover the complete damage suffered by the old-timer industry etc .. from the responsible minister, but in private, so that it does not cost the population any money. They must also cough up the 2 billion of the mistake with the Bulgarians.

  11. Of course it is good that the actual figures are now available. However, I have yet to see how those “lights” in The Hague react to this. After all, a word of admonition makes more impression than 100 strokes of the cane on a fool, and I don't need to think long about what to classify those “Hague lights” under. I am very curious how this will end and will follow it carefully.

  12. Fortunately, real numbers are now known that they can bend over in The Hague and think carefully about what they are doing to punish old-timer enthusiasts
I just wait and see everything before I take steps that I might regret a lot later.

  13. Chapeau !!, what the KNAC and the ANWB failed to do is done by you. My donation has been well spent so far. Indeed, it is crazy that a mop policy not only introduces something different to 3 times, and that an entire industry has since been disabled. I follow your results closely. Keep it up !!!
    Alex

  14. and who will ultimately pay the costs that the damage claims will incur ??? the Dutch population! VERY CERTAINLY NOT THAT CHARACTERS WHO HAVE CAUSE THE WHOLE PROBLEM!

    • I think that we will recover the complete damage suffered by the old-timer industry etc .. from the responsible minister, but in private, so that it does not cost the population any money. They must also cough up the 2 billion of the mistake with the Bulgarians.

  15. Top! I am proud of you! Admiration… I also sent an email to our 'ministers' (ahum, disrespect…) with the arguments, among other things, that the branch would collapse with all the financial consequences for that professional sector. Financial consequences for the same government that wants to implement this ridiculous rule. In addition, everyone will suspend his / her car, just as long as a government is emerging that will scrutinize and revise ridiculous rules and intentions. My Mercedes Benz and I still have to bridge one more year (1975) and we do that, if things go wrong, suspended for 27,50 euros for one year ………… Who laughs last… ..

  16. Three measures in 4 years, that disproportion is a strong point, which will weigh heavily. The Hague is just going too far with that, they will now certainly compare with the measures in the surrounding countries and we get away with that.
