2013 Was a rather hectic year. But we, classic enthusiasts, now know where we stand. Okay, we are the victims of a set of releaseers that Old German Diesels ran on frying oil to bring the Dutch economy to even greater heights. That this type of oil boat was holder-free, that was a whim.
And the insight of our rulers, we should not gamble too much on that either. In the States, the critical view of politicians has already matured further. "Never trust a politician" is a winged remark there.
But in the meantime, classics are and will always be the nicest form of transport, passion and other road-dreaming. And in the troubles of the past year, we can see the gain: the range of classics is large. And the demand lagged somewhat last year. And what do you have then? A buyers market. YES!
This means that classics in the Netherlands have never been so cheap. Prices are asking prices. And in the meantime that has also been cheered by Germans, Belgians and French. They all come here to get classics, just as we Dutch once abducted loads of Fiat 500s and DSs.
The market will stabilize again. But 2014 will be the year in which you too can finally buy the classic you dreamed about ... Or just a fun classic for it.
The editors and employees of AMK wish you a prosperous 2014!
