Lancia Fulvia and the new AMK song.

Isn't that a wonderfully beautiful Lancia Fulvia, which graces the cover of the very first issue of 2022? Yes, the new AMK is in production and is now at the printer. We have tried to make it beautiful again. Or was that successful? We leave that to our readers. In any case, we have put a preview of that song online again and you can browse it again at the bottom of this message.

The Fulvia on the cover

The Lancia Fulvia on the cover is the result of the very first restoration by 25-year-old Justin van der Vlist. He has been working on it for no less than three and a half years, about 15 hours a week. And the result can be seen, it is as if it just came out of the showroom. The car has therefore been completely disassembled, after Justin brought it from Italy to the Netherlands in 2018. In the January issue you can read the whole story, and how the restoration went.

Four times eight

The story of Hermann Egges is different, but at least just as special. He didn't buy his first Austin Eight until 2010, which was a 1939 Austin 8, two door, four light saloon. Hermann is now a registry manager of the club and is known as the most important man in the world of the Austin Eight. Hermann's collection expanded to four different versions of the Eight. As the title says: “An Eight for every occasion”. Hermann's hobby is now also a real family occasion and you can see that reflected in the beautiful photos that accompany the article.

Wave to boyfriend and girlfriends

Yes, Bassie and Adriaan. They drove a Honda Prelude. Same model as in the January issue of Auto Motor Klassiek state, but not completely. That's right, because the Honda Prelude we're describing is a convertible. These were of course not supplied by the factory, but in this case came from Con-Moda. The body shop from Cologne made an open version of it, and that was not so easy. A story of the eighties, the years when the bodyshops did golden business and could make the most beautiful things out of ordinary home-garden-kitchen cars.

Volvo 122S

Theo Hoekstra from Heerenveen is a Volvo enthusiast, has a long history with it and currently owns several. Including the 122S, which Erik van Putten was allowed to drive and describe in an extensive article. An article that describes Hoekstra's love, but also the Volvo in all its facets.

Snowy peaks

The weather forecast is again talking about a white layer that will soon cover our streets. How topical are the snow-capped peaks, about which the article by l'Alpine Classique writes. Can you imagine it already? A group of classic enthusiasts who visit the ski village of Chamrousse with classic cars and motorcycles and enjoy winter sports there in style – with equally classic ski equipment. It's like being thrown back decades in time, because the whole village now exudes that classic atmosphere. Yuri Colman and Boudewijn van de Bogaert have already participated a few times. Once with a Nekaf Jeep and recently with a Mercedes-Benz 190 Heckflosse. The latter apparently manages better in the snow. A story that completely brings you into the atmosphere of the years when the winter sports holiday was only reserved for the better-off.

Sun beam B24

The Sunbeam B24 was a qualitatively perfect motorcycle. One with good driving performance and beautiful too. Yet it was never a success. Takeovers and war pushed the Sunbeam brand into the abyss. There are not many copies left. Gert Holmersma found one and we photographed it and put it in this issue.

Ducati Indiana

The Ducati Indiana was also not a success. An attempt to enter a new market segment led to Ducati's custom bike, the Indiana. Among other things, due to the high purchase price and the need for maintenance (desmodromic heads) every 5000 km, the Indiana was immediately rejected by consumers. How could the famous Bologna firm deliver such an unsportsmanlike monstrosity? Still, an engine that was superior to its competitors on most fronts. A cruiser that also steered well and accelerated quite well. Still, with only a few thousand copies, it became a blunder for the motorcycle manufacturer.
