For lovers of beautiful and rare automobilia it is a fixed value, which is eagerly awaited. On 26 and 27 May, Marcel Seidel Auktionen is organizing the traditional automobilia auction in Ladenburg, Germany. This year it is again dedicated to the exhibition of unique documents and other automobilia. In addition, the German auction house is organizing a special auction during the same event. It focuses on two Porsche anniversaries and a beautiful collection around legend Edgar Barth.
“This time we are once again offering absolutely impressive exhibitions,” says Automobila-Ladenburg boss Marcel Seidel about the upcoming major spring auction. “We are reflecting on the two special Porsche anniversaries that are taking place this year. Both the 75th anniversary of Porsche and the 60e anniversary of the Porsche 911 are discussed in detail. In addition, we have succeeded in offering the extensive legacy of German motorsport legend Edgar Barth,” says Seidel.

Seidel and his team put together a new, richly filled auction catalogue. And that is a wonderful harbinger of the new spring auction. As announced, the organization is very proud of the absolute and one-off specialty of the house: the racing legacy of Edgar Barth. The three-time European hill climb champion and Targa Florio overall winner in 1959 was and is a German racing legend.
When asked about the highlights of the auction, Seidel was delighted to mention the first-ever Scuderia-Ferrari yearbook, detailing the first two active years 1930-31 and thus the first racing successes on 84 pages in impressively good condition.
Beautiful Dunlop driver suit
Another special piece, according to Marcel Seidel, is the two-piece Dunlop driver suit, which was worn by German racing legend Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips. It is the suit used during the 1959 and 1960 Ferrari seasons. The mentioned highlights of the auction are only a minimal selection of the large selection that will be auctioned. Because during Automobilia Ladenburg the organizers also offer much smaller and larger car exhibitions. In the ordinary auction catalog alone you will find more than two thousand automobilia pieces and related items, often of great historical value.

And in the catalog in which the legacy of Edgar Barth and the two Porsche anniversaries are central, you will find 705 special automobilia pieces and related items. The special auction of this will follow after completion of the main auction.
