The ID followed a few years later, mechanically simplified, with simpler performing engines. And in 1958 the combination wagon series was shown for the first time. called internally Citroën this series ID F, and it remained that way for years. In 1959 the series made its debut, and Citroën also succeeded in providing the practical variants with eccentricity, extravagance and… a variety of delivery options. For example, the Break, the Familiale, the Ambulance and the Commerciale appeared on the basis of the ID F. All with their own niceties and performance details.
In terms of technical applications, it fit Citroën properties of both the ID and the DS to the Break and related. The engines evolved over the years, the second and third nose also found their way to the Break and related. The delivery options became more extensive, and the names changed over the years. That's the name of the late version of Geerts' classic. Citroën DS 20 Break. The combination wagons from the D-series van Citroën always sang their own song. without losing touch with the saloons. For example, versions of the '23' combination wagon series also appeared in recent years.
One thing is certain: the Citroën DS 20 Break is a special car to drive and absorb. In addition, the long history of the D combination wagon series (internally by Citroën basically called ID F for a long time) fascinating, beautiful and intensive to research.
