Purchasing classics there

Auction house will be held on Thursday 24 April H and H Auctions its traditional 'spring sale' in the Imperial war museum in Duxford. For the time being, however, the number of motorcycles to be auctioned remains stuck on 16. And that's a bit on the low side.

H and H is therefore seriously looking to auction classic motorcycles in order togrid'to make it more attractive. H and H wants to definitively close the catalog of the Imperial War Museum auction on Wednesday 28 March. Until that time, however, interested parties may offer motorcycles to be auctioned. Anyone who has such a motorcycle and wants to get rid of it can contact H and H employees David Hawkins (on the phone number: 0044 7943 584765) or George Beale (on the phone number: 0044 7897 159149).

The current line-up of classics for the Imperial War Museum auction is only 16 lots big. Yet there are some very interesting examples. There is the NSU Sportmax from 1955 where both John Surtees as a Mike Hailwood have raced any competitions. Furthermore, the line-up also has two TT winners: one Suzuki XR41 from 1983 (from Rob McElnea) and one Honda RS 125 from 1998 (from Robert Dunlop).

But H and H expects the most from the DKW SS 250 from 1938 (see intro photo). This two-stroke tracer is a very rare motorcycle with a rotating inlet and compressor. The DKW is expected to yield between £ 100.000 and £ 120.000.
