Underrated classics and Jags & the Classic Park
With all the incredibly high prices for incredibly iconic classics you would almost forget that there are other brands than Ferrari, Aston Martin, Mercedes-Benz and Bugatti. And if such a classic is hammered on TV at a few million $ +, then you soon think that classic driving is only for the richest.
FEETS!
Because all those over-invested investors who do not drive their classics, they only look at their price development. And the largest global traders respond to this in a way that they have copied from the art trade. But that of course remains among us.
Meanwhile, there are still a lot of 'undiscovered' classics. They are affordable and deployable. You can just drive it. That applies to an Alvis Stalwart, but also to the boldly endearing FIAT 133 that we Auto Motor Klassiek number 9. Think of a FIAT 127 disguised as FIAT 850, which is actually a SEAT. Nice? Very nice!
Also with motorcycles
When it comes to motorcycle, we of course all know the notorious / famous Kawasaki 500 cc two-stroke three-cylinder: the 'Widow Makers' and the 750 cc version thereof. Such a three-quarter liter two-stroke was also quite civilized to ride. But that is never discussed. Kawasaki had seen the light and it was clear from the marketing point of view: More three-cylinder two-stroke were to come! They became 350, 250 and 400 cc machines. 'Venijn in pocket format'. The heavy triples are now impressively priced. And the 250 cc? It is considered 'pretty sweet, but not very interesting' by most people. Most people don't do the machine justice with that. You can only say that the smaller Kawa three-pits are less impressive. But then you are still in the corner of “A boulder is more impressive than a diamond. Because the rock is bigger. "
