Purchasing classics there

There was again a lot to admire at the Oldtimers and Classic fair in Leek, beautiful shiny and special classics, but of course also parts, documentation, tools and miniatures as usual. A more than varied offer divided over two halls, with many enthusiasts searching for parts and the opportunity to enjoy tip-top restored old-timers/classics.

As soon as we entered, our eyes lit up spontaneously and our hearts started beating faster when we discovered three Peugeot 202s that were shining. You could dream away at the appearance of the trio, which is in mint condition. There was a red/yellow Peugeot from 1948 (PM-37-94), a red/black from 1939 (PM-37-95) and a black Peugeot from 1949 (AH-81-49). Unique old-timers of the Ties Gerritsen Family in a harmonious color combination, you should pay tribute to the craftsmanship of the restorers.

Discovery of the unexpected

The red/yellow and red/black Peugeots come from Luxembourg, a campsite owner let the cars drive over the site every year. He owned the red/yellow one for about 60 years, and the red/black one for 20 years. It is also known that the red/black was originally imported from America back to France and then to Luxembourg. Truly a world car.

Truly incredible!

The owner's age also progressed and it became increasingly difficult for him to maintain the cars. So they were eventually sold with the wish that it would be nice if they stayed together. And they stayed together, the duo was even expanded with a third, the black Peugeot 202 that was intended for the daughter of the family. The history of this car is also partly known. The black Peugeot 202 was imported from France in 2001 by a car company from Steenwijk, the later owner in Ruinerwold was allowed to own the car for 21 years and then pass it on to the new generation.

Big fans of the Peugeot 202

The design of the Peugeot 202 was pre-war, after which production was resumed after the war. The body is beautifully streamlined, the two headlights behind the grille make it elegant, the design clearly aerodynamic. We have had the pleasure of finding out the story behind the Peugeots 202 through relations in the classic world. So it is clear to a Ties Gerritsen family: Peugeot un jour? NON… TOUJOURS.

  1. Since 1984 I own a 202 caminette in original condition from a French winegrower from department 66.
Has stood still since then because I don't fit in the cabin with my height.
