Purchasing classics there

Marcel's love for fast Renaults started with owning a Renault Clio Williams 16 V 2,0 L, a particularly sporty and fast version of the Clio series. The deep-rooted love for Renault remained, but a nice throw and throw car came back in a bright yellow color in the form of a Renault Mégane RS Sport.

By: Dirk de Jong

The powerful engine has a displacement of 1998 cc with turbo and intercooler. An output of no less than 230 hp and a maximum torque of 300 nm, and four valves per cylinder. The top was no less than 236 kilometers per hour. The production period of the Renault Mégane RS Sport was very short: from February 2007 to December 2008 and thus guarantee of exclusivity! A wonderfully fast car that knows almost no limits and is very suitable for the circuit. In its execution almost a collector's car.

Obsessed with speed

Marcel: “For me it is also the love for the design of my youngtimer, he is known by advertising as that car with the crazy butt, which makes it a unique appearance. Driving my fast Renault Mégane RS Sport is nothing short of fantastic, and the comfort as I experience it: great. I sometimes think of putting it in the middle of the village square and watching from a distance how people react to this bright yellow rascal, then I probably feel the pride of possession even more strongly. My RS Sport version is an exclusive version of which very few drive in the Netherlands, and my affection is based on speed. Every ride is an adventure. In short, it is a dream on wheels for me.”

Positive Side Effect

With many youngtimers/classics and oldtimers on four or two wheels, the social aspect is of great importance. Enjoying conversations with like-minded people, a lot of information is exchanged with the result that they can become Renault friends. Maybe not very special, but very nice, and that is a positive side effect!

  1. Heb sinds een aantal maanden precies zo 1 en ben er heel blij mee
Heb ook een alpine V6 en een 19 RSI cabrio en een 11 txe 1.8 16v
Dus deze past er mooi bij

  2. My old car that I bought in 2012 in Zoetermeer and which I did not like to part with in 2015.

Equipped with a Fastchip remap, a Forge intercooler, the clutch of an R26.R and a different flywheel.

  3. Don't like yellow at all; unless in nature, unless a classic, and certainly also on this horny RS!
Have had all the fast Renaults, Alpines, Clios, 5Gts, and hopefully this one too!

  4. A few years ago I was looking for a successor to my fast road bike.
It ended up being a 911, but your Mégane is also really cool Marcel!!
Hopefully we can enjoy fast cars for a long time…..

  5. Fine car for the autobahn and on a fast circuit. Did less well with us on the Hillclimb, on Prescott Hill. The problem was at the start that you smoked up the front tires without Traction Control, and with TC the engine, including the turbo, did not get up to speed. The higher weight compared to Clio 172 and Twingo RSI was also a disadvantage. see : https://www.google.com/search?q=prescott+hill+renault+twingo+rs&rlz=1C1JZAP_huNL831NL831&sxsrf=ALiCzsaK4xPqlGjhAaLZPmIX0leyhAFNaw%3A1668374013128&ei=_V1xY423B4fnsAed-L-AAg&ved=0ahUKEwjNqZ7Diaz7AhWHM-wKHR38DyAQ4dUDCA8&uact=5&oq=prescott+hill+renault+twingo+rs&gs_lcp=Cgxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAQAzIFCAAQogQyBQgAEKIEMgUIABCiBDIFCAAQogQyBQgAEKIEOgoIABAeEKIEELADOgUIIRCgAToICCEQFhAeEB06BwghEKABEApKBAhBGAFKBAhGGABQ1hJYhFlg3nBoAnAAeACAAZgBiAGQCJIBAzkuMpgBAKABAcgBAcABAQ&sclient=gws-wiz-serp#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:04d27c8c,vid:fAZGDXJGqlo

    • I don't quite understand; link refers to a number of movies of a Twingo RS in that hill climb. Also a great car: 1.6 liter naturally aspirated engine and fantastic road holding.
