The suspension effects as a result of the abolition of the MRB exemption on old-timers or the implementation of the 40 annual compromise have been calculated incorrectly. Vrijstellingoldtimer.nl states this in its newsletter. Initially, the Ministry of Finance did not want to respond to the various WOB requests submitted by Wouter van Embden's team. Ultimately, the calculated effects have now been inspected. In combination with the petition handed over on 8 October - in combination with the file - politicians are excessively interested in the findings of Vrijstellingoldtimer.nl and it became clear that the government MUST now really study the issue.
Working with outcomes WOB request
Vrijstellingoldtimer.nl will use the information received from the Ministry of Finance to further demonstrate that the measure is based on incorrect assumptions and that essential information is missing. They also use the previously disproportionate nature that emerged. The results of these efforts will probably become visible in the coming weeks. The findings will in any case be viewed with interest by the First and Second Chamber fractions. Discussions with these political representatives will take place in the coming period.
Petition is taken very seriously
That interest in the activities of Vrijstellingoldtimer.nl does not stand alone. The petition presented at 8 October last year is taken very seriously by politicians. The handing over of the petition and the file led to additional questions to the State Secretary on 10 October in the closed consultations conducted by the political groups of SP, PvdA, CDA and 50PLUS. In particular, the members of 50PLUS expressly question the usefulness, necessity, effectiveness, and there it is fairness. The good news is that the government must now point by point to the documents supplied by Stichting Autobelangen. The Cabinet will certainly have to deepen and establish that maintaining the MRB exemption in accordance with the Amendment by Vliet is worthwhile. And the government can use that now that the CPB announced today that the autumn agreement will increase the budget deficit by an additional 0,7 billion.
