When we saw this beautiful Volkswagen T1 Pickup in the Auto Dijk showroom, we couldn't help thinking that several people probably enjoyed this VW bus. It started as a workhorse for an entrepreneur and has now become a showpiece with a lot of patience and dedication. It is clear that many hours have been spent on the restoration. The valuation report speaks of a value of 60.000 euros. The purchase price will be lower in the negotiation?
Original state?
According to Adriaan – the sales advisor – it is not always necessary to return the bus to its original condition, but it is also important that personal wishes are realized for its new life on the road. And those personal wishes in this case were:
– An overhauled engine
– Engine and gearbox upgrade
– A 1640 cc engine with short Weber carburetors
– A beautiful spaghetti exhaust manifold.
– A fully leather interior
- Opening front windows
All this including the opportunity to return to the good old days. The longing for nostalgia plays a major role for all of us. It is a real old-timer in every respect, thoroughly reliable with a long lifespan, the counter now stands at 56 years.
Automotive art
It is hard to imagine that the VW was ever designed and produced for small transport, just a mass product to move us easily. It is now automotive art, perhaps as storage for the mud of the earth, and perhaps the happiness of a special and precious possession. The Volkswagen T1 Pickup is pure beauty in its simplicity, the genius creation will never be forgotten.
Well-thought-out design and practical construction, almost every transport problem was solved quickly and easily. And that still applies to all kinds of classic versions: the pickup, with or without a double cabin, panel vans, vans with windows, passenger buses for 7/8 people. In any case, we could enjoy this Volkswagen T1 Pickup.
this is called: Marketing, Marketing, and they invest billions at the VW concern…….and the youth is sensitive to it. And besides: vw has never been in the top 10 of best cars, in any country, especially not in strict test England where even the Porsches, after the warranty, have the most expenses ( no. 1 in the top 10 worst cars; scores well here 😉
Status????? oh so important
In my municipality there is also a VW split bus for sale in a showroom somewhere.
They just unashamedly ask 100.000 euros for that.
Not so long ago I sold my Ford Transit MK1 in almost new condition for a paltry 2.000 euros in the autotron Rosmalen.
Market prices, I will never understand them.
Well, some things you do not understand, must have something to do with supply and demand. I think the supply of Transit MK1 is less than a T1 bus, but if the demand is not there, then it stops.
