When you make a story about the VW Scirocco you know that you are highlighting a special car. The VW Scirocco surprised many visitors during the presentation at the Geneva Salon. The sharp lines of the wedge-shaped Sport Coupé in Bestform were received very positively, and not much later the press was also full of praise. The Scirocco I became a success, with more than half a million units sold. But before the first series-produced Scirocco model rolled off the line, a lot of water flowed through the proverbial Rhine.

On February 4, 1974, the first series production Scirocco in Osnabrück left the line. The Scirocco I was built until 1981.
