Purchasing classics there

The Landrover Santana 88 is an exceptional off-road vehicle that you rarely encounter. We are familiar with this type, but this Landrover, produced in Spain, is more exotic and rare. Yet it looks very similar to the original Landrover from the UK. Jurjen had been looking for this specific version for a while and finally found it in southern Germany via the internet.

Exhausts of the Landrover Santana 88. Fun is priceless

The Landrover Santana is essentially designed to leave the road and navigate rough terrain: climbing slopes, making deep ruts in a muddy environment. Jurjen has a large piece of land next to his home in the Frisian countryside where he regularly puts the Santana through its paces. But most rides are pleasure rides: doing some shopping or taking the family along. The motto remains: fun is priceless.

35 years of experience

Jurjen, now 77 years old, has had a lot of fun during his car life. Many cars have been given a second life thanks to restoration. Next to this Spanish powerhouse, the Landrover Santana 88, stands his pride and joy in his shed: a German sports car with the three-pointed star on the nose. We are talking about a Mercedes 230 SL convertible from 1963, so beautiful that it also deserves a place in the columns of Auto Motor Klassiek.

Distinguish

Car enthusiasts often have the urge to distinguish themselves from others. Expressing personal identity, and Jurjen does that with his exotic Landrover Santana and his beautiful Mercedes 230 SL Cabriolet.

  1. I was present at the car show in Brussels at the time. I seem to remember that there was an IVECO engine in it... could this be correct or have I been misinformed?
