Purchasing classics there

This Saturday, the respectable “Le Sporting” in Monaco will host the RM Sotheby's biennial auction. This prestigious event coincides with the Historic Grand Prix of Monaco. The organizers have put together a "liste des ventes" that makes every enthusiast, investor and interested person really get the hang of it.

Countless objects will be offered in the Principality of the Mediterranean. It goes without saying that the majority of the plots are linked to a beautiful, exclusive automobile. Those who quietly go through the list of "lots" will find that the European (read: Italian) supercars dominate the catalogs of RM Sotheby's for this wonderful auction.

No less than twenty Ferraris
The auctioneers will do their utmost this Saturday to bring no less than twenty Ferrari's under the hammer. Among those beautiful "descendants" of Enzo Ferrari are truly sublime specimens of a rare quality. An 340 America Barchetta from Touring, an 212 Inter Cabriolet (carrozzeria Vignale), an 250 GT / L Lusso with the signature of Scaglietti and an 330 GTC from Pininfarina not only go hand in hand with more modern versions from Maranello. They form like it was a tribute for an absolute rarity: the Ferrari 275 GTB / 4 NART "by Scaglietti", an exotic that was only built 10 times. The estimated revenue from this exclusive Ferrari is an astronomical amount that is between € 19.000.000 and € 23.000.000.

beautiful Alfa Romeos
To stay in Italian atmosphere: historical heritage of Alfa Romeo is also part of the respectable offer in Monaco. A Alfa Romeo 6C Gran Sport Spider from 1930 , a Giulia Tubolare Zagato from 1965 and a very nice Giulia Sprint Speciale are just a few examples.

Special: Quattroruote Collection
A special auction will also take place in the morning. The “Quattroruote collection” theme houses classics from various eras. Here too it is striking that the Italian influence within the supply is large. Various Fiats - such as an 508 "Balilla" Berlina - and a Lancia Lambda are just examples of a collection that also houses a beautiful Hispano Suiza and some Rolls Royces.

Rally past comes back in auction
Whoever says Monte Carlo also thinks about rallies. It is therefore not surprising that a Peugeot 205 Turbo Evolution 1 also appears on the auction list. A Renault 5 Turbo and two "rally" Alpine A110 units also do a French job, as an '52-er Bentley R-type Saloon in Monte Carlo trim gives a British nod to earlier rally times.

Other pearls in Monaco
In fact, all offered exotic species are worth mentioning, but we highlight a few more. A formidable one Citroën 15C Roadster, an eye-catching Bugatti Type 40 Roadster, an excellent Corvette from 1956 and a Lamborghini 350 GT are pearls in Monaco. And without an Mercedes Benz Pagoda, an 190 SL and a Gullwing, no auction will sail, as the Austin Healey 3000 Mk I Works will also generate more than normal interest.

Who does not honor the "small" ...
Finally, a few smaller - and relatively more affordable - classics deserve to be mentioned. In the Quattroruote collection, a Lancia Appia of the first series, a Fiat 600 and a beautiful Topolino represent the little ones, not to mention the special Garelli-Katia MS. In the "Monaco" auction, the Autobianchi Bianchina Trasformabile and the 600 Multipla require special attention.
