Purchasing classics there

Marten is a Renault man through and through and is actively involved in preserving cars from a bygone era. He has a never-ending interest in Renault and everything related to it. He speaks enthusiastically about his Renault service car, the Renault 4 F6 Order, and takes all the time to tell the story of his hobby. The car bears witness to an era when all Renault dealers drove this version as a service car. A layout was available through the importer to radiate the necessary unity and uniformity.

The Renault 4 F6 Order is an eye-catcher in workwear

He protects our driving heritage with this service vehicle. He wants to keep the car as original as possible and of course ensure responsible maintenance, which is no problem for him due to his craftsmanship - and golden hands - as a Renault mechanic. Everyone will understand that it is not intended for daily use.

French glory

He also shows his admiration and respect for cars from the past in his garage. His masterpieces have almost disappeared from the daily street scene, but certainly not from his car life. For example, there is a Renault Twingo Benetton from the first series with the well-known Benetton color patterns, which alone makes it exclusive. The second generation Twingo is available with a diesel power source, this type was a minority in this version, and can therefore also be called special. His third Renault is a Renault 19, the compact middle class car from 1991, this 30-plus car has undergone an aging treatment by turning it into a GTS version from an earlier year of manufacture. But let us put into words the contribution to the preservation of this Renault 4 F6 Order as a service car.

C'est magnifique

Marten: “For me it is a mixture of sympathy for Renault and simplicity, which is something that will appeal to many enthusiasts. In practice, I notice that this service vehicle brings back pleasant memories. Proof of this is that every refueling takes at least half an hour, there is always interest, it sometimes seems like question time. Have you restored the car to new condition yourself? Do you know anything about the history of the car? Can I sit behind the wheel for a moment? The reactions show admiration and I would like to share the enthusiasm by telling the story of the restoration.”

The second life for the Renault 4 F6 Order

Marten: It started with the purchase of the Renault 4 F6 Order in 2015, a car ready for demolition. The rust devil had already demolished the floorboards. The many sheet metal parts could no longer be saved. The entire superstructure was actually no longer usable, so that only the chassis remained. Good advice was expensive, a donor had to be found with a good superstructure, which ultimately worked. The project could begin, which ultimately took – intermittently – 3 years.

Too big project

According to experts, the car hobby is a solution for many to escape from the busy daily life. Marten agrees, but also clearly states that the project was too big and is therefore a one-off. It is true that he cannot stop talking about his project, in fact; he goes into ecstasy when he talks about his Renault 4 F6 Order. It is now a highly unique and valuable car. The good old days are not letting go of today's generation!

  1. Beautiful restoration; my compliments! My first car in 1979 was a Renault 6L. Bordeau red and 6 years old. I fell through: rusted out. After several other cars, I couldn't resist buying one last year. A completely cool, Spanish R6. We have already made some progress with the renovation. So at the age of 70 I am more or less driving my first car, albeit with a 1108cc F6 engine and a slightly reluctant R4GTL gearbox, but we are getting there. Delicious!

    • Dear, my first car at the age of 11 was a discarded R4 with worn out drive shafts... I started the car almost every day during the holidays. My car ended up being sold. When I was 18 I drove a 5 R1972 TL… But not for long. I got hit in the right but total loss. Sad because I had done a lot of work on the car…. since then the Renault story was over. I'm looking forward to it again...I could see an R5

  2. When my father was director of Renault dealer Chr Kerres in Kerkrade and Heerlen, I drove one of the first Renault 4 fourgonnettes as a service car with 3 gears. Privately had 2×4's, R14, R6 and R5 LS. Dad drove Renault's Rambler at the time. Because Renault did not have a large car in its program in the 60s after the disappearance of the Frigates, American AMC Ramblers were assembled in Belgium.

  3. Wow.
How beautiful. Things like this make me warmer than an unaffordable classic Ferrari GTO or something.

About a year and a half ago, I came across a customer who had a perfect... Citroën C15 in its company colors. Also so cool!

  4. She is beautiful with a wonderful story. Do you also have the predecessor of your R4, a Juva4 Fourgonnette from 1949, with a story about the first owner who did his work with it for 50 years? Maybe we can meet each other.
