Purchasing classics there

The Rotterdam Classics Foundation is organizing a CO2 neutral protest ride in Rotterdam for the fourth time. Just like on 12 March last year, hundreds of enthusiasts with their classic cars, mopeds, camping vehicles, old trucks and other youngtimers and oldtimers are expected again.

Organizer Stichting Rotterdamse Klassiekers supports clean air but is committed to the symbolic environmental zone in the port city of Rotterdam and the proliferation of environmental zones in other cities in the Netherlands. With the municipal elections in mind, there is a good reason for the Rotterdam Classics Foundation to get attention again ask for alternatives in relation to the environmental zone.

No environmental zone, but constructive solutions

According to a spokesperson for the Rotterdam Classics Foundation, people would like to let the city know, to want to think about the mobility issue. The organization has been against the environmental zone for a number of years and has been suggesting ideas and plans to take measures that will benefit various parties. The Rotterdam Classics Foundation is therefore pleased to present its vision for a truly healthy and pleasant living environment in the city. The symbolic measure called the environmental zone does not fit within that vision.

From ports to Hoek van Holland

This year there is no tour of the city. Instead, a symbolic ride from the South Bank of the city through the ports of Rotterdam to Hoek van Holland will lead. Anyone who wants to ride along or enjoy the beautiful classics is cordially invited to come to Rotterdam. The meeting starts at 10: 00 hours in the parking lot at the StoomSchip Rotterdam. The departure of the Hoekse Lijn Tour to the end point in Hoek van Holland will take place around 12: 00 hours. The procession of oldtimers and youngtimers will run over the dikes, the harbors and along the Maas, with Hoek van Holland as the end point.

Co2 neutral protest ride

This year too, CO2 emissions will be bought off symbolically for this ride by the Rotterdam Classics Foundation for all participants. “We understand that our cars emit something. But following a good example from the municipality of Rotterdam and other institutions, we are once again buying off our Co2 emissions. That is why, like last year, we can offer a CO2 neutral event, "say the organizers. The surrender took place at a large certified Dutch institution.
