A leap forward, the past is….

The legendary motorcycle brand Triumph is back on the equally legendary salt plain of Bonneville. With the appearance of a jet fighter and a double thick Triumph Motorcycles power source, AMA driver Jason DiSalvo will go for the FIM world record (now 605,36 km / h) and the magical 400-mile limit, an amazing 643,8 kilometer per hour! Triumph has been the name on the salt flats of Bonneville since time immemorial, a direct result of the four historical speed records with the Devil's Arrow, Texas Cee-gar, Dudek / Johnson and Gyronaut X1. Between 1955 and 1970, with a break of 33 days, there was one Triumph always the fastest in the world. The Triumph Castrol Rocket wants to bring this title back to its rightful owner. It's not for nothing that the most famous Modern Classic model is wearing Triumph the name “Bonneville” for decades!

On the famous salt flat in the American state of Utah this week with the Triumph Castrol Rocket tested, a streamliner or "cigar" that is powered by two (!) Engine blocks of the powerful Triumph Rocket III motorcycle, together good for more than 1000 horsepower! After the test week a short evaluation follows and immediately next week the attack on the world speed record for "streamline" motorcycles.

Jason DiSalvo: “Land speed racing is the purest form of motorsport. You must use all means, all techniques and all your perseverance in a constant fight against the elements. There is little grip on the salt flat, while the wind tries to blow you in all directions. Yet the most special thing about Bonneville is the battle people there. The circumstances are so challenging that people who seem to have little in common have to do it together to become the fastest in the world. "

Greg Heichelbech from Triumph Motorcycles North America: “This project pays homage to the history of both Triumph Motorcycles as our partner Castrol, which revolves around innovation, courage and perseverance. It is a wonderful moment to simultaneously honor our history as an engine brand and write new history. ”
